Audax-OTF - OD Green
Latin adjective meaning "bold, daring, courageous".
Precision machined with our distinct and recognizable aesthetic and styling; characteristic of a purpose driven, lifelong design direction and ethos. This OTF features a classic American clip point blade silhouette, ergonomic arcs, and the purposeful fluting and texturing of the modern machine age as found in high grade tools to precision barrels. The Audax features a fully contoured, type III hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle, titanium billet pocket clip, GID inlaid slider, and internal lanyard pin. The action uses coil springs placed in linear orientations for a rapid blade deployment (and retraction) when seconds count. Coming in at a mid-sized 3.5" blade length, the Audax is a high standard automatic for users that need speed and quick blade accessibility when on the job and on duty.

The value of this piece can't be overstated. The fit and finish is on par with it her PDX knives. This is my fourth knife from them and I am a satisfied customer. When I initially activated the knife, it wasn't fully engaging but it had been in a cold mailbox. So I warmed it up and got it fully engaged and haven't looked back. I will admit that this is my first OTF.so I don't have much to compare it to but I own plenty of custom and high end production knives. I was aware of the negligible blade play in most OTF and this seems to be within normal limits and doesn't seem excessive or seemingly going to pose a problem considering the excellent housing of the knife. The action is so fast. Very happy with the purchase.U
The Audax came very sharp out of the box, and it fires with a purpose. Very minimal blade wiggle, and great ergonomics on the grip.
The blade is high quality steel and the clip point blade is classic and refined.
There are two points I would improve on. The grip can be somewhat slick, which I think will lessen over time. This issue doesn’t exist while wearing shooting gloves, however. Perhaps some knurling would provide a more substantial purchase while gripping.
The other issue I have is the lanyard area. It is way to small to place standard 550 chord in, which is what I put on all my pocket knives. The lanyard area is also too small for micro chord. Most people would probably not put 550 on their pocket knives so this is not a bid deal for most, but it is what I do on everything for retention when fine motor skills weaken.
Overall I am incredibly pleased with my new OTF.
I am a Microtech fan and I chose the Audax over an Ultratech, so if you know knives that says a lot.
Thank you for the review!
