The SPD Editions CRKs are very sought after. We've tried lotteries, random drawings, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, in the past. There is always someone stomping their feet, even though we tried different drop methods to accommodate, simple because THEY did not get what they wanted. We use one of the world's top ecommernce programs, Shopify, and there is 'no shopping cart hold' app that has worked for us, or is customizable enough to work with our ERP. We are a for profit American business. There is also a certain level of tolerance for committed resources to find a work around for high demand product drops, where it becomes a unprofitable scenario, and therefore no longer a viable market strategy. We frequently think of different ways to manage these high demand drop so we're not losing money on this and still making these drops happen. It is an ongoing process. We could also just stop dropping these, or simply offer these to our top 50 customers. As some have suggested that we need to play favorites to our best customers, but we don't think that's a good idea, bc in reality, those who suggested this are far far away from being one of our top 50. From Amaz*n to other e-tailers, don't have hold cart systems, and there's excellent reasons for that. Primarily, no American business wishes to bottle neck sales, despite the inherent unfairness of individual chip speeds, server speeds, internet bandwidth, typing skills, autofill settings, etc, etc, etc. Those who are the most upset, will remain so, until the day where they can get what they want. We would love to get everyone one of these who wanted one, BUT we are limited to the annual allotment from CRK. But alas, we don't control that.
