    The son of Laërtes and Anticlea, husband of Penelope, and father of Telemachus, Acusilaus, and Telegonus, Odysseus is the Greek champion who proposed the Trojan Horse. After the horse was brought behind the city walls, he and the other soldiers hiding inside emerged to open the gates, allowing the Greek forces to enter, defeat the Trojans, and win the war.
