SPD X Liversage Chute Knife
-
Overview
The "Chute Knife" pattern was created by internationally known and respected custom knife maker Bob Loveless with input and in collaboration with Harry Archer and Ken Warner. According to knife lore, Bob Loveless considered the Chute Knife a direct descendent of the American Bowie Knife, and was created to meet the various needs of CIA operatives in the field during the Vietnam War era. The Chute Knife needed to be compact, sturdy, capable for defense, bush craft, and when necessary, easily wieldable to cut oneself free from any fouled parachute rigging.
Wesley Liversage is a custom knife maker hailing from South Africa. His beautifully executed Chute Knife is a homage and reproduction of the Loveless Chute Knife pattern. The construction methods are tried and true, and reflected in this edition as made for PDW. From the red handle liners, classic canvas micarta scales, bolts, solder, tapered tang, and lashing holes in the dual finger guard, this Chute Knife is an American classic with a storied past. The Wesley Liversage Chute Knife is not only an expertly hand made custom fixed blade knife, but a highly practical field tool with the spirit and soul from a US clandestine and military operational history. -
