    It shrugs off 100 meters of water, so river crossings and clumsy boat launches are none of its concern. The cardinal points glow after dark, so losing the sun doesn't mean losing your heading.     The WCC wrist compass used during the Vietnam War is the grandfather of the modern titanium wrist compass, the piece PDW first brought to market in 2015. The dial on this 20mm button compass is a direct descendant of that original.

      What is a button compass used for?
      Think of it as insurance. A tiny backup heading source for the moment your phone dies, your GPS loses signal, or your main compass walks off without you. Toss it in a pack or lock it onto a watch band with our EWBC kit, no weight added, no battery required.

      Is this compass waterproof?
      Yes, to 100 meters. Rain, river crossings, and the occasional dunking that proves you can't swim as well as you claimed, none of it stops this thing from pointing north.

      What does the WCC Arrow mark on the dial mean?
      It's a nod to the WCC wrist compass carried during the Vietnam War, the compass that led PDW to build the first titanium wrist compass in 2015. We pulled the dial straight from that original and updated it into this 20mm button compass.

      Is this the same compass used in the Expedition Watch Band Compass Kit?
      Yes. This is the same 20mm compass that ships inside every Expedition Watch Band Compass Kit, available here on its own if you need a spare or a replacement.

      Does it need batteries?
      No. It reads the earth's magnetic field, the same trick compasses have used for centuries. No batteries to swap, no charge cable to pack, no firmware update standing between you and north.
