Prometheus Design Werx

Small but
Mighty

The SPD X-11 is a very compact, yet highly capable cutting tool. Barely over 8 grams in weight, smaller in diameter than a AAA battery and about as long as your pinky finger.

Titanium EDC

PDW builds in titanium because it performs where other materials fail. The SPD X-11 is that commitment at its most compact.

Advanced, Utility
Design

The X-11 handle is shaped from a single piece of 6AL-4V titanium billet, creating a true unibody cutting tool with no assembled housing. Four preset blade positions and a recessed button deliver reliable, intuitive operation in a footprint smaller than a AAA battery.

Best
Grade

The X-11 is built from 6AL-4V Grade 5 titanium billet and fitted with a C3 Super-Luminova (Strontium Aluminate) cabochon, the brightest photoluminescent grade available. PDW makes no concessions on material quality. The No. 11 utility blade standard was chosen deliberately: globally available, razor sharp, and sourceable anywhere in the world.

A to Z

The X-11 ships in a signed SPD tin presentation box, reusable by design. Compact enough to serve as a fire kit, a sewing tin, or a pocket stash box, it reflects the same attention to detail as the tool itself.

Disassembly
Tool

The X-11 includes a handy small driver that is designed to perfectly fit the small machine screw that holds the locking button parts together. Use this tool to quickly and easily disassemble the locking button to replace the X-acto no.11 blade.

Special
Projects
Division

The Special Projects Division designation isn't given lightly. It marks tools that required PDW to solve problems without precedent — products where standard approaches fell short and new methods had to be developed from the ground up. The X-11 earned it.

FAQ

What blades does the SPD X-11 use?

Standard X-Acto No. 11 utility blades — one of the most widely available cutting blades in the world, found at art supply stores, hardware stores, and online retailers worldwide.

Can I carry the SPD X-11 on a plane?

No. The X-11 has a blade and is subject to TSA and airline restrictions. It must be packed in checked baggage when traveling by air.

How do I change the blade?

The X-11 ships with a dedicated disassembly tool and spare parts. Blade replacement requires disassembly of the unibody handle. Simply unscrew the slotted machine screw with the provided disassembly tool/driver and carefully pull apart the lock button components. Be careful to not lose the small springs. Extra parts are included just in case.

What is C3 Super-Luminova?

C3 Super-Luminova (Strontium Aluminate) is the highest-grade photoluminescent material used in high-end watch dials and tactical equipment. The X-11 button cabochon charges from any light source and glows in complete darkness for low-light identification.

Is the blade replaceable in the field?

Yes. The included disassembly tool and spare parts allow for field blade replacement. Replacement X-acto No. 11 blades are available globally. Check blade compatibility if using clones. Not all clones are the same dimensions as the X-acto brand.
